According to a recent report of comScore, the most popular social media turned out to be Facebook in India. In the month of July almost 21 million Indians visited this social networking website, which was almost triple of the number of visitors last year in the same period.
However, other networking sites also announced growing number of visitors that adds up to 33 million Indian internet users who accessed any social media in the examined period. The popularity of social networking is not only present in India but all over the world. Since everything is switching from offline to online, such as stores, schools, bank services, radios, televisions, games etc. the social life of humanity is also switching to the web. Nevertheless, 84% of all the Indian internet users access the social sites and it is a great number.
Since India has a huge population, it is a very good market for the digital world, not only for Facebook but for all type of sites and e-businesses as well. Last year the number of internet users increased by approximately 15 % in India. At the moment, the country is the seventh biggest market in the world following the United States of America, China, Germany, Russia, Brazil and the United Kingdom.
